Welcome To Our Website

The Lone Cypress Winnitascans is a Northern California chapter of the Winnebago International Travelers (WIT), the official Traveling Club of Winnebago Industries. The name "Winnitascans" combines the words "Winnebago" and "Itasca." The Cypress tree logo dates back to the founding of our chapter, originally in Monterey, California, in 1973. This makes us one of the older WIT clubs in California. It was just seven years before, in 1966, that the first motor home rolled off the Winnebago Industries assembly lines in Forest City, Iowa. The National WIT Club was started in 1969. The first WIT chapters were started in 1970 and the first in California in 1971.

Our chapter draws its membership (currently about 33 RVs) from the Bay Area, primarily the South Bay, East Bay, Peninsula, and Santa Cruz areas. Our average outing is a 4-day weekend every month or so at an RV park somewhere in our general area; ranging from the Gold Country to the Monterey Peninsula, from the Central Coast to Northern California. These outings provide a chance to renew friendships and to find new ways to enjoy our Winnebago and Itasca products. We share our experiences, our travels, and general RV knowledge. We are an active club, with most members approaching retirement or retired. Most of our members also belong to the California State Club of WIT (CALWIT), which opens doors to State meetings, rallies, RV seminars, and more.

We are very proud to have had our website named the "Best Local WIT Club Website of 2017" by the National Winnebago International Travelers Club. Please enjoy your visit.
