Winnitascan Recipe Book

At all of our Lone Cypress Winnitascans outings part of the enjoyment is how we wine and dine ourselves. The good home-cooked food provided by our members always makes for a special and delicious time. Here we share some of our favorite recipes used at our events.

  1. Lone Cypress Winnitascan Recipe Book - Let's start with a great collection of 30 favorite LCW shared recipes complied by Betty Rausch. Download her whole cook book and then get ready for some real "lip smacking" treats not included in those listed below. (PDF File)
  2. Make-Ahead Freezer French Toast - Hope Campbell shares her fabulous recipe to make a crunchy French Toast that can be frozen for later use. Perfect for RV cooks and feeding a crowd. (PDF File)
  3. Beef Bourguignon for a Crowd - This is a hearty, low sodium version of a classical stew. The recipe is from a Medical Center in San Francisco. (PDF File)
  4. Biscuit-Topped Breakfast Casserole - Excellent for a group for breakfast or any other time of the day. (PDF File)
  5. Chicken Comer BBQ Sauce - Bring your barbecued chicken alive with this sauce. (PDF File)
  6. Country Breakfast Casserole - A package of country gravy mix makes this casserole different. You can make it the classic way, or healthier by substituting low fat sausage, egg substitute and less cheese. Whichever you choose, enjoy! (PDF File)
  7. Croissant Breakfast Casserole - Adapted many years ago from a recipe in the Calgary Herald newspaper. It is a no fail recipe. Easy for the beginner cook and looks very elegant. Can be doubled and tripled with no problem. Cook time does not take into consideration overnight sitting time, so plan ahead! (PDF File)
  8. Hamburger Soup - A simple to make, hardy recipe soup. (PDF File)
  9. Lynne's Chili - You have to try this simple to make, but fantastic chili (PDF File)
  10. Monte Cristo Casserole - Based on the Monte Cristo sandwich at the Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland. I first made this casserole for my son and he loved it. I hope you do too. (PDF File
  11. Pork, Dumplings and Sauerkraut - This is a typical Bohemian meal from the old country and the only drink recommended is beer. Ketchup is NOT recommended on this meal. (PDF File)
  12. Sunrise Casserole - A fantastic cheese and potato dish, great for any meal of the day. (PDF File)
  13. Taco Salad for a Crowd - I have made this many times to serve at get-togethers and I always receive rave reviews from everyone! (PDF File)
  14. Sweet Potatoes Recipe - This delicious dish was used by Marianne Loeser at the Grand Holiday Outing held at Casa de Fruta RV Resort in December of 2015. You requested this real crowd pleaser and here it is. (PDF File)

Now that we have started this, how about posting some more of your successful "road tested" recipes you've shared with us at our previous gatherings? Let's make this page grow - hopefully not along with our waistlines. There are several ways to send a recipe to us. The newest way is to use the member's "Recipe Blog," or you can also just e-mail it directly to the webmaster.  Either attach it to your message or type it directly into the message itself, whichever you are most comfortable with.  Please include when and where you used it.
